With Fewer Committees, Board Meetings Become Shorter

Under the traditional model of board governance, many board committees would find themselves engaged in administrative work. Under the Complementary Model, however, such work will more appropriately be done by CEO committees reporting to the CEO. This arrangement results in two significant benefits.

First, there are fewer committees required to report on activities to the board of directors. Second, and as a consequence, board meetings become shorter. This two-fold reduction in the demand for volunteer time is a universally welcomed operational feature of the Complementary Model.
